Entry 2 May 3, 2016
Another boring ass day in shithole of the world it is now. I worked on the truck for a bit, while Ally slept in on the bed up top in the loft. She woke up once or twice and with a pissed off look on her face. I think it was because I was cutting metal today, so the saw was making a screeching sound the whole time along with the generator making noise. Though I guess that was good way to make her get up and make us lunch. We had a nice big can of pork and beans. Though, I had to keep making jokes about it and sounding like a cowboy. Ally laughed a few times, though I don't know if she was in much of a mood for it today. I always tell her, laughter makes the world seem a little less dark.
Anyway, where was I yesterday? Oh yea, we where barracked in Ally's apartment. So, we were stranded for at least half a month in Ally's small as apartment. I think we may have played every game known to man during that time. Every day, the news would come on at 8 in the morning to 8 in the afternoon, giving us a report on what was going on.
Around mid February, the news just stopped all the sudden. It was like every channel on TV was controlled by the CDC and the army. They all just kept playing the same thing. "Remain calm. Stay in your homes. Do not try and contact family or friends. Stay away from infected citizens. Thank you for your patience." That's all we heard for that entire time from the outside world. By the end of the month, me and Ally were sick of it.
One day, we were sitting in the living room, playing scrabble for the six hundredth time, when we got a knock… no, more like a thud on the door. I went over and answered it hoping it was some CDC dude telling us to come with him, but no. Instead, it was some random Z.
I guess I should explain what Z's are before I go on. Z is short for zombie. Ally hates it when I call them that, because they are still human beings. So, I call them Z's for short, though it's not hard to tell the difference from a Z as to a non infected individual. Z's generally have really pale faces, blood seeping from their tear ducts, they yell and shout like an ape, and smell like wet dog mixed with week old trash. Now, unlike those zombies you see in the movies or see in video games, these one aren't dead. They are still alive, they still think, but only just. Based upon what I know, the virus demoted them to their most basic animal instincts; eat, sleep, and try to bit whatever you see. That's it. No emotion, no love, no compassion, nothing. They just eat whatever animal they can find, whether that even be other humans,  sleep when they feel tired, and if they sense that you aren't like them, they will charge at you and do all they can to bite you. I'm sure you already knew all this, but yet again, I'll just act like you have been in a coma for the past two years.
So, I answered the door only to find a Z standing their looking at me with his blood shot eyes, glaring expression, and blood stain all over his teeth. I soon tried to close the door on him, but as I was, he stuck his arm through the door and managed to bite my hand. Though, I ended up crushing his arm in the door. He soon pulled it back after that and ran off screaming. Ally managed to stitch up my hand the best she could. She wasn't the best at keeping the pain to a minimum.
She kept a close eye on me after that. We both expected me to start growling at her and act like and ape, but that day never did, nor has it come. The only issue I really seemed to have had was my hand hurting like crazy as it healed. So, with me apparently being immune to the infection, we headed out into the city. The place was a total ghost town, other than a few Z's walking around here or there. We managed to find the CDC camp designed for a quarantine, but the place was pretty much empty. There were a few papers laying around the camp giving instructions to leave the site.
Judging but we saw, the infection spread too quickly and became air born. There were spots were large groups of CDC employees were dumped after they had been shot. It was really hard to believe all in all. It was almost like the world we had seen every day and took for granted had suddenly just dispread over night.
Ally and I spent the next week after that barricaded in her apartment, armed pistols. I think we both were extremely shocked at the time. All we could do was lie around and wait for some kind of rescue, though it was doubtful it was coming.
One night, I woke up to the sound of kitchen appliances being thrown around. I walked out into the door way to see Ally dumping out everything in the kitchen onto the floor. I then asked her what she was doing. She turned to me with an angry look on her face and told me she couldn't live like this anymore. She said she was sick of everything and she didn't want to live anymore. I managed to rush over to her as she was putting one of the pistols to her head. I pulled it away from her with a struggle and threw it on the floor and held her. She immediately put her face in my chest and started crying. E soon slid to the floor and I pressed my back up against the cabinet door as I had my arms still wrapped around her.
I don't blame her. Why would anyone want to live in a world where there is no world? I like to think, my main purpose for surviving the encounter at the front door was to stop her from making a big mistake. We both were at our breaking point then.
A few days after that, we decided to pack up the truck and head west. Based upon what we had heard on the news before the CDC took over, was that the virus wasn't able to survive at high altitudes. Why bother sticking around a town with now life, then trying to find a town with life.
So, that's how we got to where we are now. We managed to find an abandoned car garage a few miles outside of town to take refuge in while I fixed up the truck for a long drive west across routes covered in Z's the whole way. I figured it wouldn't take this long, but I'm only one man. Making it take a lot longer than I had hoped. Ally says she doesn't mind though. She tells me that if the west isn't there when we arrive, it wasn't going to last anyway. I guess that true.
Well, that's all I have for today. Ally heated up two cans of corn and green beans for dinner, so I got to keep up on my vegetables. Which reminds me, we are going to need to make a run back into town for some supplies. Boy will that be fun. Tell then, we are still unlucky survivors.

I'm enjoying this...keep it up.

Kinda reminds me of "Zombieland", which I watched Halloween of 2009...

...Just don't accidentally kill Bill Murray; that's already been done...find a more annoying celebrity...like Carrot Top. ^_~
